Description
These flow dividers patented as "Divinor" by Nortek have the mission of distributing the oil air through various lubrication points without using mechanical means.
Although they can be used in any type of industry, they have been developed for steel applications, especially in rolling mill chocks.
The main feature lies in its 50/50 distribution because it is specially designed for small spaces with difficult lubrication.
Design and principle of operation
The flow enters the interior of the Divinor through the inlet (A), colliding with the internal divider (1) which is responsible for distributing the flow through both outlets based on the holes made in both outlets. Due to its fluted profile developed by Nortek, the division is done accurately through both outlets (B and C).
Installation
It is made by means of a Ø10 H11 longitudinal hole recommended by Nortek made in the chock in an area free of obstacles with both sides of the chock threaded at 1/4”bsp and feed holes towards the bearing and seals.
In the longitudinal hole, a plug is placed on one side and on the other, due to the fact that they are normally reduced spaces, a ¼”bsp inlet system will be made according to customer needs. Internally, as many dividers will be placed as necessary, placing intermediate extensions as needed. The feeding holes are clogged on the outside.
The installation on the outside of the chock is simple, since it only needs a connection tube between the master distributor and the Nortek inlet system.
